Tena Sanders is a gifted musician. She is a preacher’s kid who was reared in the Baptist church on the soulful Westside of Chicago. Tena began singing at an early age in church where she was trained and developed by her father who was her Pastor and a distinguished church musician.
Loaded with talent and discipline as an adolescent, Tena enrolled as music major from the highly acclaimed Lincoln Park High School on the Northside of Chicago. From there, Tena enrolled in Dominican University where she earned a bachelors and master’s degree.
Over the years, Tena has distinguished herself musically as a sought after soloist, recording session musician, and background singer for national and local recording artists including, Common Hymnal, KEM, Heather Headley, Megan McNeal, Calvin Bridges, and Larry Brown Jr. She has ministered with award winning choirs across the United States of America. including Souls of Salvation, Delegation for Christ Choral, and Pastor Angela Spivey and the Voices of Victory. Tena currently serves a Praise & Worship leader at Trinity United Church of Christ of Chicago, Illinois.
In addition to being musically inclined, Tena is committed to serving her community though her affiliations with social service organizations. Tena is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the Order of the Eastern Star, AF&AM.
